WAGENER – Mrs. Beatrice Rushton Carver, 92, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 20, 2008. Mrs. Carver was born August 26, 1916, the daughter of the late John Henry and Carrie Poole Rushton. She was the widow of the late George Clyde Carver.
She was a beloved mother and grandmother and was preceded in death by one son, Henry Carver and a granddaughter, Kay Gilreach. She is survived by one son, Ed (Frances) Carver, three daughters, Laurine Vance, Carrie (J.C.) Tindal, and Shelby (Kenneth) Smith, all of Wagener; grandchildren, Julia (Don) Walker, Greg (Lisa) Tindal, Lynn (Phil) Clarke, Steve (Britta) Carver, Wayne (Sherrie) Carver, Todd (Laura) Carver, Tammy (Jeff) Key, Kim (Cliff) Ashley, and Doug (Shannon) Smith; great-grandchildren, Sabrena (Geoff) Rawls, Jason (Michelle) Jones, Justin (Mandy) Disbrow, Traylor Disbrow, Jennifer Walker, Nick Walker, Josh Tindal, Heather Strickland, Austin Strickland, Ashley Clarke, Lauren Clarke, Kyle Clarke, Sam Clarke, Phillip Clarke, Spencer Carver, Stephanie Carver, Matthew Carver, Adam Carver, Amanda Carver, Orrie Carver, Michael Waites, Jeffery Key, Jeremy Key, Jacob Key, Caleb Ashley, Brett Smith, D.J. Smith, and Aimee Brinson, great-great-grandchildren, LeAnn Rawls, Dylan Rawls, Thomas Disbrow, and Isabella Walker; and sister Lou Ellen Key.
Mrs. Carver was a member of Bethcar Baptist Church, where she served for more than 50 years. She retired from Wagener Manufacturing Company in 1984.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home, 163 Main St., South (803) 564-5333 and other times at the home of Ed and Fran Carver, 1206 Wagener Trail Rd, Wagener.
The Funeral Service will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at Bethcar Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Addy officiating. She will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service for viewing. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Tindal, Steve Carver, Wayne Carver, Todd Carver, Doug Smith, and Jason Jones, with the Eula Heath Fidelis Sunday School Class serving as honorary pallbearers.
