Salley – Danny was born April 14, 1948, to Lonnie Kenneth Young, Sr. and Daisy Yon Young in the Salley Community of Aiken County. He was the eldest of three siblings. He was a graduate of Pelion High School, Class of 1966. He went to work as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #382 in Columbia, SC and he later worked out of the IBEW Local #1579 out of Augusta, GA. He worked as an electrician up until 1996. In 1998 he was legally considered retired/disabled.
In 1973 the family moved back to Salley, SC where he was introduced to Barbara P. Young. They were united in marriage on December 28, 1973. They were married for a total of almost 43 years. On the 40th wedding anniversary; before families and church family they renewed their vows after the Sunday morning worship service. The families served a wonderful luncheon after.
Danny attended Springfield United Methodist Church for almost 43 years. Danny and Barbara were leaders for the Methodist Youth Fellowship there for many years.
Danny is preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Kenneth Young, Sr. and brother, Lonnie Kenneth Young, Jr.
He was devoted to his family and is survived by his wife, Barbara Poole Young; son Todd (Michelle) Young of Leesville, SC and son, Robert Young of Salley, SC, grandchildren, Savanah and Jacob Young of Leesville, SC; mother Daisy Yon Young of Salley; sister Janice (Bob) Ethridge of Gilbert, SC; sisters-in-law, Glenda W. Young and Kathy Tindal of Salley; mother-in-law Emmogene B. Poole of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.
From the bottom of their hearts, the family wishes to thank the staff, nurses and therapists of United Energy and Fresenius Medical Care of Batesburg-Leesville, SC and for all the prayers, calls, cards, texts, visits, and food. They are truly blessed with family, neighbors, friends, and a community that really cares.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The Funeral Service with be 2 pm Sunday at Springfield United Methodist Church with Revs. Frank Copeland and Dewitt Livingston officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
