SALLEY - Mr. Marlyn “Rock” Whetstone, 75, entered into rest Thursday July 3rd, 2014.
Mr. Whetstone was born September 7, 1938 in Aiken County the son of the late Marion and Vera Poole Whetstone. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Cynthia Faye Crim Whetstone and sister Elfrieda Miller. He attended Clinton United Methodist Church. Mr. Whetstone was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass.
Mr. Whetstone is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Dale and Lisa Whetstone of Salley, daughter and son-in-law Aleshia Dawn Whetstone Bailey and Richie Bailey of Pelion, grandchildren Jody and Jameon Whetstone and Josh and Kaci Bailey, Ashley Bailey, half brothers Wilson and Sam Whetstone, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry and Jackie Crim, nieces and nephews, and special friend Margaret Wright.
Visitation will be Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home, 163 South Main St., Wagener, S.C. The Funeral Service will be Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the Clinton United Methodist Church with the Reverend Grayson “Butch” Blackwell officiating. Burial will be in the Poole Cemetery.
