Batesburg – Mr. LeCroy West, 85, entered into rest Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007.
Mr. West is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carrie Lou Baughman West, children; Oliver B (Linda) West, Sr. and Deborah West, grandchildren Oliver B. West, Jr., Amanda Pavlick, Adam West, Erin Reece and Austin Cory West, great grandchildren Emily, Tyler, Bradyn and Peyton West all of Batesburg, sisters Catherine Davis and Jeanette (Ron) Raymond and brother Thomas (Elestine) West.
Mr. West was born in Aiken County, the son of the late Otis Percy and Nellie Catherine Whetstone West. He was predeceased by his brothers; M.P., Percy, Edwin and Bernard West. Mr. West was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII where he received a Bronze Star of Valor and the Purple Heart medals. He was a member of Merritt’s Bridge Christian Church and the Wagener VFW.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Blizzard Funeral Home of Wagener. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the Merritt’s Bridge Christian Church with the burial in the church cemetery to include military honors.
