Pelion – Mrs. Ella Mae Walter Hamlin Turner, 90, entered into rest Saturday, February 3, 2007.
Mrs. Turner was born in Franklin County, KY; the daughter of the late William Roland Walter and Christine Emma Weber Walter. She was blessed to have had two wonderful and caring men in her life who preceded her in death. Her first husband, Reverend Norris Hamlin to whom she was a devoted pastor’s wife for thirty-five years and; her second husband, Herschel Turner to whom she was married to for ten years. She was also predeceased by son, Richard Hamlin, brother, William Walter and sisters, Elizabeth Quire and Lucille Miles. Mrs. Turner was very involved with mission work in the churches she served. She was also a house-mother at Georgetown Baptist College in Georgetown, KY.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Walter T. and Nicole Hamlin of Fremont, N.C., daughter-in-law Brenda Hamlin, grandchildren Amy Morrison and Sheila Hyght, great grandchildren Joe Tennant and James Morrison, sisters, Emma Quire and Catherine Samples of Frankfort, KY and Virginia Filson of Pelion and, a number of nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 7th at 1 p.m. in the chapel of LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home of Frankfort, KY with burial in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am Wednesday at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home.
