Orangeburg – Ruby Marie Rawls Thompson, 31 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning. She was very loved by everyone and will be greatly missed. She was born in Wagener with a heart of gold. She trained as a vet – tech and worked with several veterinarians in Columbia before finding her passion in body piercing. For anyone who met her they could be guaranteed a smile from the free spirit and colorful personality the Lord blessed her with. She just glowed.
Ruby is the daughter of Nancy Hutto Rawls and Arthur B. “Ronnie” Rawls, Jr. She was blessed with a son Tony “TJ’ Thompson, III, a sister Mary and brother-in-law Bobby McGee, brothers Arthur B. “Skeeter” Rawls, III and Jordan Rawls, Grandfather A. B. “Skeet” Rawls, Sr. and five nephews.
A service to celebrate Ruby’s life will be Sunday, February 11th at 3 p.m. in the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home, 163 Main Street South, Wagener (803)564-5333 with the Brother Jerry Smith officiating. Committal service at Perry Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday, from 5- 8 pm also in the chapel.
