Vernie Cleo Gunter Southerland
February 15, 1939 - May 14, 2015
New Holland – Mrs. Vernie Cleo Gunter Overton Southerland, 76, departed her earthly life to be with the Lord in her heavenly home, Thursday, May 14, 2015.
Mrs. Cleo was the wife of the late Alfred Southerland; mother of Leslie “Les” (Bonnie) Overton of New Holland; step sister, Gail Myers of Augusta; step children, Lynn (Bill) Barefoot and Warren Southerland of Columbia; grandchildren, Nina, Dillon, Daniel, Angie and Melissa; sister of the late Leona Williams, Billy Gunter, Sr. and his wife Jeanette, and an infant brother. Mrs. Cleo is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was the son of the late McCabe and Cassie Bell Gunter. Mrs. Cleo loved to camp and fish.
Visitation will Monday, May 18th from 7 to 9 pm at the Blizzard Funeral Home Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday May 21st at 7 p.m. also in the chapel. The Rev. Sandra Myers will be conducting the service.
