Gaston – Kenneth “Kenny” Melvin Shurtzer, Sr., 44, entered into rest Tuesday, June 23, 2015.
Kenny was the husband of Julie H. Shurtzer for twenty-five years. He was the father and father-in-law of Kenneth M. “Scooter” Shurtzer, Jr. and his wife Ashley, and Charlie R. Shurtzer. He was the son of Elizabeth Ava Elmore Shurtzer and the late James Alward Shurtzer. Kenny was the brother of Richard Elmore, James Byron Shurtzer, Elizabeth S. Reynolds and Ginger S. Desfonds. He was the uncle of 7 nieces and 12 nephews. His special niece was Hope Reynolds. He also had 8 great nieces and nephews. His extended family is the Creeches and Hankinson families. Kenny’s best friend is Richard Chavis.
Kenny was born in Orlando, Florida. He was a carpenter. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
A time to celebrate Kenny’s life and to fellowship with his family will be Saturday, June 27th from 2 pm to 4 pm at 1756 Pelion Road, Gaston, SC 29053.
