Betty "Nanny Betty" Shumpert

Pelion - The Funeral Service for Mrs. Betty Lynette Lucas Shumpert, 75, will be held Tuesday, July 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelion, SC, with internment in the Pelion Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Parish Hall before the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
“Nanny Betty” was born in Lexington County on October 30, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Fred L. and Ila Mae Wise Lucas. She was the married to the late Bobby Ray Shumpert. She was predeceased by her daughter Vickie Shumpert Eddins, son Jerry D. Shumpert and sister Miriam L. Jackson.
"Nanny Betty” is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Steven and Delores F. Shumpert, grandchildren Terry and Billy Bailey, Steve Shumpert, Jr., and Lucas and Erin Shumpert, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, sister Patricia L. Boone and brothers Jimmy “Buster”, Larry, Paul, Freddie and Allen Oneal Lucas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, P. O. Box 510, Pelion, S.C. 29123. Blizzard Funeral Home, 153 Main St. South, Wagener, S.C. (803) 564-5333 is assisting the family.
