Gaston- Mrs. Bertie Wilma Taylor Sharpe, 92, entered into rest Sunday, June 21, 2015.
Mrs. Bertie was born in Lexington County to the late Lawrence Franklin “Buddy” and Reta Alberta Sharpe Taylor. She was the wife of the late Noah Haskell Sharpe.
Mrs. Bertie was the mother of Carolyn Stabler of Columbia, Marie Sharpe of Gaston, the late Debra Sharpe, Irma and John (J.B.) Baden of Columbia, Skip Sharpe of Gaston, and Wanda Matthews of Columbia. She was the grandmother of Jessica Matthews, the late Keith Sharpe, Crystal Smith, Patricia Yates, Cal Stabler, Steve Stabler, Lenora Whitaker and Winston Miles. She was the great-grandmother of Brooke Tager, Leticia Yates, Johnny Yates, Candice Whitaker, Taylor Whitaker, Amber Whitaker, Sara Whitaker, Madison Whitaker, Grace Whitaker, and Brantley Miles. Mrs. Bertie was the sister of the late Norman Taylor, the late Ponell Taylor, Myrtle Rikard, the late Fritz Taylor, the late Doris West, the late Layton Taylor, the late Evelyn Laird, Nevelyn Glenn, Delmadge Taylor, and the late Frankie Cable.
A Celebration Service will be Wednesday at 11 am in the Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home with burial at Gaston First Baptist Church Cemetery, 121 Oakey Springs Drive, Gaston, SC 29053. A time of visitation will follow the service.
