Salley – Mr. Robert Shadd, Sr., 62, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 11, 2016.
Robert was born in Millvale, PA to the late Eugene Anthony and Ann Catherine Brozack Shadd. He is a veteran of the U. S. Marines. Robert was a Fireman with the Aiken Public Safety and later transferred to Support Services for the Maintenance Department. He was also a volunteer with the Salley Fire Department. He was a certified body repairman. Robert was a Taekwondo Instructor having obtained 3rd degree black belt. He traveled overseas several times to increase the techniques of his art. Robert was a Deacon of Salley Baptist Church.
Robert was married to Sara Beth Salley for eleven years; father of Robbie Shadd, Jr. and David Shadd; grandfather of 5; brother of David (Patricia) Shadd of North Huntingdon, PA, Patricia (Alan) Painter of Dayton, PA, Theresa (John) Hensberger of Allison, PA and Stella (Bryan) Thornton of North Huntingdon, PA; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4:15 Saturday, October 15th in the Salley Baptist Church Fellowship Building. The Funeral Service will be at 4:30 in the church sanctuary with Rev. Phillip Proveaux officiating. Burial will follow in the Salley Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Salley Fire Department at P. O. Box 484, Salley, SC 29137.
