WAGENER – Mrs. Ruby Gertrude Haile Seay, 72, entered into rest Monday, March 26, 2007.
Mrs. Seay is survived by children Cynthia Seay Holder (late Mike Holder, Sr.), Carol Seay Witzell (John) and, Alfred Lee Seay, Jr. (Sandra) all of Wagener, Patricia Seay Garvin Dean (Bill) of Hanahan, grandchildren Mike Holder, Jr., Jamie Holder, Glenn Garvin, Jr., Daniel Garvin, Kati Seay and Andy Seay, and great granddaughter Hannah Grace Garvin, Sisters Theodora “Dodie” H. Lee of Aiken, Clarise H. Beard of Columbia, Sallie H. Gilliam of Lexington and brother Clarence Neal “Sonny” Haile, Jr. and his wife Priscilla of Sumter.
Mrs. Seay was born in Columbia, the daughter of the late Clarence Neal and Lessie Alma Hammond Haile. She was the widow of Alfred Lee “Pal” Seay, Sr., and also predeceased by sisters Alma H. Reger, Irene H. VanMansart, and Marjorie Haile.
Her love for music led her to sing with the Billy Graham Crusade when he was in town. She sang for many weddings, church functions, and other opportunities she had to bless people with the talents God gave her. Mrs. Seay was a member of Bethcar Baptist Church where she served as pianist for many years. One of her life joys was taking care of children.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home, 163 Main St. South, Wagener, S.C. (803) 564-5333, and at the home, 3130 Camp Rawls Road, from 11 am to 4 pm. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 29th at 4:00 p.m. in the Bethcar Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chris Addy officiating. Mrs. Seay will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service for viewing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
