Wagener - Mr. Lawrence D. Saylor, 82, entered into rest Wednesday, April 13, 2011. He was loved and will be dearly missed.
Mr. Saylor was born in Molus, KY, the son of the late Gillis Saylor and Ary Jane Saylor Meeks. He was also preceded in death by his step father, Isom Meeks, grandson, William Hammons, brothers, Robinson Saylor and Larry Allen Meeks, and sisters; Allie Stephens, Beatrice Haynes and Margie Sigler.
Mr. Saylor is survived by his daughter Linda Vanderkooi of Bristol, VA and her husband Peter, grandchildren; Michael and his wife Melissa, Dawn, and James Hammons, great grandchildren; Ashley Sanders, Jessica, Cortney, and Katie Hammons, Alyssa Hammons, Tyler, and Matthew Hammons, sister-in-law Jean Saylor of KY, and brothers-in-law; Bonnie Stephens of KY and Donald Haynes of FL. Mr. Saylor was cared for by his nephews; Freddie and Melvin Stephens and their families.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1 pm in Sunset Memorial Park, Forest City, NC.
