Aiken – Mrs. Shirley Parsons Rish, 75, entered into rest Wednesday, November 9, 2011.
Mrs. Rish was the wife of the late Thomas Gray Rish, daughters; Salli Elisa Rish of Aiken and Julia Caroline (Mac) McElwee of Swannowa, NC, grandchildren; Thomas Michael McElwee and Melissa Sue-Ann McElwee and a number of nieces and nephews. She was also pre-deceased by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mrs. Rish was born in Hickory, NC, the daughter of the late Charles and Elsie V. Crump Parsons. She was a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church, retired from Aiken County DSS and graduated from USC. Mrs. Rish loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. She was loved by her family and friends.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers please send memorials to South Aiken Presbyterian Church at 1711 Whiskey Road, Aiken, SC 29803 .
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm Sunday in the South Aiken Presbyterian Church with Pastor Christopher Crotwell officiating. The family will receive friends in the church beginning at 2:30 pm.
