Mr. Porter is survived by his wife of 49 years; Phyllis Dawn George Porter, children; Pamela “Pam” Denise Porter and Kimberly Lynn Porter of Pelion and Michael “Mike” Emery Porter of St. Augustine, FL, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sisters; Rose (Charles) Kyzer of Dingess, WV and Lou Owen of Mt. Gillian, OH, brothers; Patrick “Pat” (Gail) Porter of Toledo, OH, and Danny (Tracie) Porter of Columbus, OH, brother-in-law Vanta “Von” E. (Carol) Queen of Jacksonville, FL, and sister-in-law; Linda Jean (Dallas) Queen of Delbarton, WV.
Mr. Porter was born in Logan County, WV. He was the son of the late Joe Beres and Helen Porter. He was also predeceased by sister Billie Jean Porter and brother-in-law Ronald Owen. Mr. Porter was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps. and was a scales technician with Toledo Scales.
