Perry - Mr. Martin Clinton “M.C.” Poole, Sr., 80, entered into rest Monday, October 22, 2007.
Mr. Poole was born in Aiken County, the son of the late Philip and Carrie Warren Poole. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Poole and step-father Felder Poole. Mr. Poole was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and the U. S. Air Force having served in the Korean War. He was a member of Clinton United Methodist Church.
Mr. Poole is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Rachel Cooper Poole of Perry, children; Martin C. “Jr.” and Linda Poole, Jr. of Franklin, NC, Rachel “Nell” and Phil Rosbach of Aiken, and Jane and Anthony Wiles of Salley, grandchildren Elizabeth Miller, Martin C. Poole, III and Holly, Alan Poole and April, Jamie Poole, Sr. and Lori, Philip Poole, Sr. and Buffie, Rachel Wiles, and Daniel Wiles, great grandchildren Johnathan Poole, Jordan Poole, Melinda Miller, Savannah Poole, Jamie Poole, Jr., Philip Poole, Jr. and Derek Poole, and sister Shelby Avery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home, 163 Main St. South, Wagener, SC (803) 564-5333 and other times at the Wiles home, 57 Altees Corbett Rd.
The Funeral Service will be Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the Clinton United Methodist Church with the Reverend David Williamson officiating. Mr. Poole will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service for viewing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors.
