Pelion – Mrs. Lois Starnes Poole, 90, entered into rest Saturday, May 30th.
Mrs. Poole is survived by her sons and daughters -in-law, Larry Poole, and Wayne and Mildred Poole of Pelion, and Nelson and Ruth Poole of Hopkins; grandchildren; Larry and Debbie Poole, Jr., Kim and Richard Kneece, Ervin Poole, Sabrina and Shannon Walker, and John Anthony “Tony” and Rachel Poole; great grandchildren; Sarah Poole, Elizabeth Poole, Caleb Kneece, Andrew Kneece, Mark Kneece, Derek Poole, Colton Poole, Sophia Walker and Skyler Walker.
Mrs. Poole was the daughter of the late Reuben B. and Ada Hutto Starnes. She was the widow of John B. Poole and also predeceased by brothers; T. L. Starnes and Kelly B. Starnes, and sisters; Mary Rawls, Eula Mae Smith, Blondell Ott, and Katie Lou Roebuck.
Mrs. Poole was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church.
The Funeral Service will be Tuesday, at 6 p.m. in the Mount Hermon Baptist Church with the Rev. Josiah Mazzell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 pm at the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home, 163 Main Street South.
The family request no flowers be sent, and in lieu of flowers that memorials may be made to Mount Hermon Baptist Church Building Fund, 1845 Cedar Creek Road, Pelion, SC 29123. The family also expresses their appreciation to the staff of Reliant Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.
