WAGENER – Rev. Christopher Lee Poole, 67, entered into rest Wednesday, August 13, 2008.

Rev. Poole is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Johnson Poole, children Chris (Carey) Poole, Jr. of Tucker, GA and Lona (Bill) Boice of Inman, SC, and the late Chad Poole, grandchildren, Tiffany Peele, Sutton Blue Poole, Hayden Bishop, Tucker Poole, Sydney Bishop, Caitlin Boice. He is also survived by sister Lona Driggers and brothers David (Hazel) and Carlyle (Sandra) Poole all of Wagener. Rev. Poole was born in Aiken County the son of the late Arthur and Christa Bell Williamson Poole. He was preceded in death by brothers Arthur “Kayo” and Tony Poole.

Rev. Poole, member of the SC Methodist Conference, served churches in Folly Beach, Marlboro, Dillon, Orangeburg, York, Bamberg, and Dorchester counties over 41 years.

Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 pm at Blizzard Funeral Home, 153 Main Street, South, Wagener, SC 29164 (803) 564-5333. The Funeral Service will be Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the Wagener United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hope Avins, Rev. Kristen Richardson-Frick, Rev. Robert Morris, and Rev. John Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Wagener United Methodist Church at P. O. Box 265, Wagener, SC 29164. The family would extend special thanks to Dr. Butler and all the oncology medical team for the many years of service and support.
