Pelion – Mr. Charles Leon Poole was called home, Sunday August 31, 2014, surrounded by his family.
Charles is survived by his wife of 45 years Linda Hawkins Poole, children; Mitchell (Kellye) Poole, Shelley (David) Laird, Jason (Leigh Anne) Poole, and Wesley (Jennifer) Poole, grandchildren; Zachary Poole, Hollis Poole, Johnnie Huckabee, Brian Laird, Samantha Poole, Ava Poole, Paige Poole, Avery Poole, and Kellen Poole, brothers; Dewey (Carolyn) Poole and Richard (Luanne) Poole.
Charles is predeceased by his parents Leon “Monk” and Freddie Gardner Poole, and his brother Roy (Brenda) Poole.
Charles was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Cedar Masonic Lodge #184 and a welder – pipe fitter for the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union #227. Charles was a life long farmer and veteran of the US Air Force.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 in Blizzard Funeral Home and funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with burial in church cemetery with the Rev. Josiah Mazzell officiating. Mr. Poole will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 1845 Cedar Creek Road, Pelion, SC 29123.
