Pelion - Mr. Keith Stewart Pfeiffer, 72, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, May 29th following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Pfeiffer is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Hancock Pfeiffer, daughter Rhoda Pfeiffer Mills and her husband Kyle, precious granddaughter Lydia Grace Mills all of Pelion, sister Lida Travis of Juneau, AK, sister in law Edith Kowalczyk and husband Ralph of MD, nieces Elizabeth Radford of MD, Rachael Kowalczyk of NY, nephew Ralph Kowalczyk of PA, and other grand nieces and nephews.
Mr. Pfeiffer was born in Conrad, Montana the son of the late Henry "Hank" and Florence Edgar Pfeiffer. He was predeceased by his brother Nick Pfeiffer.
Mr. Pfeiffer was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy having served in the Liaison Service. He worked for SB Thomas Bakeries in Long Island City, NY where he started as a mechanic and was the National Fleet Manager for the same company when he retired in 1983. He also worked as a farrier in the NYC and Long Island area and then locally in South Carolina until his passing. He was on the board of the SC Farriers Association and the oldest working farrier in North and South Carolina. Mr. Pfeiffer attended Wayside Baptist Tabernacle.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the Wayside Baptist Tabernacle with Pastors Grover Williams and Bill Bishop officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be immediately following the service. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
