SALLEY - Mrs. Elvera “Vera” Allen Padgett, 88, formerly of Holly Hill entered into rest with her Lord and Savior Wednesday April 9, 2014.
Mrs. Padgett is survived by her son; Henry “Sonny” (G. G. Hammond) Padgett of Lexington, daughter Janie (Dwight) Adams of Mountain Rest, grandchildren Angie (Shane) Arnott, Rose Englund, Henry A. (Amber) Padgett, II, Sonya (Jerry) Colvin, Michael (Traci) Dickson, Von (Butch) Crosby, great grandchildren: Janna Cook, Alex Cook, Chance Kimball, Brianna Meyers, Johnathan Meyers, Samantha Meyers, Melissa (Braxton) Baughman, Joseph Colvin, Heather (Ben) Newman, Samantha Dickson, Paige Dickson, Brandon Dickson, Jimmy Leach, Trey Crosby and Chessa Crosby, great great grandchildren; Steven Newman, Zack Newman and Colton Conyers, brother Phillip (Ruth) Allen of Springfield, Missouri and sister Jean (Jay) Cox of Lebanon, Missouri.
Mrs. Padgett was born in Laclede County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Arthur and Rosa Fincher Allen. She was the wife for sixty-six years; Clarence Drayton Padgett until his passing in September of 2012, Mrs. Padgett was a member of Rocky Grove Baptist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Wagener Chapter.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 pm to 2:30 p.m. in the Rocky Grove Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2:30 pm. The Rev. John O’Cain is officiating.
