Lexington – Mr. Charles Franklin Oakes, 58, entered into rest, Sunday, July 3, 2016.
Charles was the husband of Patti Hydrick Oakes for 31 years and the father of Brandon Oakes and Shannon Oakes. He was the grandfather of Austin Oakes. Charles was the brother and brother-in-law of Allen Oakes, Linda (Charlie) Williams and the late Janet Hall. He was the son of the late Paul Oakes and Jackie Robinson (Ralph) Jefferson. Charles was the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Charles was a member of Convent Baptist Church. He was employed by Kyzer Truck and Trailer Repair in Columbia.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made in honor of Charles to Convent Baptist Church at 787 Convent Church Rd., Leesville, SC, 29070.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 pm in the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 163 Main Street South, Wagener. The Funeral Service will be Saturday at 11 am in Convent Baptist Church, 787 Convent Church Road, Leesville (Fairview Community). The Pastors Travis Crumpton and Perry Bazemore will be officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gregg Boone, Wesley Hall, Zen Imel, Phil Reik, Paul Sanders, Sammy Sanders, and Rixon Wagner.
