Wagener – Mrs. Iris Anita Jones McLaurin, 89, entered into rest Tuesday, March 13, 2007.
Mrs. McLaurin is survived by her children Neal and Maggie McLaurin of Perry, and Ann and Phillip Widener of Wagener, daughter-in-law Laura Muse of Columbia, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 2 on the way, and a sister Pauline J. Leister of Merritt Island, FL. She is also survived by special caregiver Patsy Hutton.
Mrs. McLaurin was the daughter of the late Daniel Oscar and Antoinette Jeanette Eva Madorah Brown Jones and the widow of the late Lawrence King McLaurin. She was also preceded in death by son Daniel King McLaurin. Mrs. McLaurin was a member of First Baptist Church of Wagener and retired from being the Wagener Town Clerk after 21 years.
The Funeral Service will be Friday, at 5:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Wagener with the Revs. Scott Griffith and John O’Cain officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be the grandchildren. Burial will be in the Wagener Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home, 163 Main St., South, Wagener, SC 29164.
