Pelion - Mrs. Sudie “Sue” Marie Grahame Lyons, 81, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, September 24, 2013.
Mrs. Sue was married to Mr. Ed Lyons for fifty-two years prior to his passing in 2009.
Mrs. Sue Lyons is survived by her daughter; Susan Lyons and her husband James Mathis, grandchildren; Jacey Lyons (Justin Pruett) and Jenna Lyons all of Pelion, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Don and Jean Lyons of Texas, niece Stacey Mahieu (Kevin), nephew Donald Lyons, Jr. (Fran) of Texas, nieces Bobbie Housand (Chris) and Sue Pfahler of Florida, and several great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sue Lyons was born in Albemarle, NC. She was the daughter of the late C. T. Wilson and Magilean Grahame Wilson of Savannah, GA where Mrs. Lyons was raised. She was also preceded in death by her sister Jean Himes and brother Bobby Wood.
Mrs. Lyons was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Mr. and Mrs. Lyons were members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Prior to moving to Pelion, they were members of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lexington.
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Mrs. Sue Lyons will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, September 27th in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelion with military honors. Pastor Charles Seastrunk is officiating.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Crede, James Mathis, Justin Pruett, and Dewey Wigington.
Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, P. O. Box 510, Pelion, S.C. 29123.
