Pelion – Mrs. Geneva Gunter Light, 92, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 5, 2010.
Mrs. Geneva is survived by her children; Jeanette Lucas, John Delane (Sara) Light, Henry Cleo “Snooder” (Debra) Light, Jr., Joanne (Harold) Goodwin and Alma (Harry) Fogle, 19 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, sisters; Eva Yonce, and Ernestine (Earl) Williamson, and brother Edmond (Rodney) Gunter.
Mrs. Light was born in Aiken County, the daughter of the late Stancil and Lillie Blackwell Gunter. She was also preceded in death by her husband Henry Cleo “Bunk” Light, Sr., sisters; Thelma Flake and Reba Shumpert, and brother Bennie Gunter. She was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church.
Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 9 pm in the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will also be in the chapel Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Carl Koon officiating. Burial will be in the Pelion Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice Foundation at P. O. Box 100199, Dept. 274 Columbia, SC 29202.
