Harry Fredrick Kirkland

New Holland – Mr. Harold “Harry” Fredrick Kirkland, 72, entered into rest Thursday July 14, 2011.

Mr. Kirkland is survived by his wife of forty -six years, Linda Austin Kirkland, children; Michele K. (Michael) Burnett, and Harold Todd Kirkland, grandchildren; Austin Lee Kirkland, Julia Michaela Kirkland, Riley Kirkland Burnett, Reagan Michele Burnett, Raney Lane Burnett, and Jason Michael Burnett, great grandson Blake Alan Kirkland, mother Margaret Cofer Kirkland and brothers; James Henry (Margaret Kay) Kirkland and Lane Cofer (Linda) Kirkland.

Mr. Kirkland was born in Aiken County the son Margaret and the late Harold Quinton Kirkland. He was a veteran of the U. S. National Guard. Mr. Kirkland graduated Newberry College in 1960 with a music degree. He was a member of Pauline Church of Christ. Mr. Kirkland shared his love for music with many as he sang, played and taught other to sing and play. He led the Edisto Singers for 18 years. Mr. Harry also loved to farm with Riley.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 pm in the Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and other times at the Burnett home, 581 Kirkland St. Funeral Services will be Sunday at 5 p.m. in the Pauline Church of Christ with burial in the church cemetery with military honors. Pastor Rick Farwell will officiate. Mr. Kirkland will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service for viewing. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Pauline Church of Christ, 523 Wagontong Road Wagener, SC 29164.
