GASTON - Mr. Howard Vanhurst King, 79, entered into rest Monday, March 19, 2007.
Mr. King is survived by his wife of Forty-six years, Margie Jeffcoat King, children Mildred and Clifton Taber of Pelion and Leon V. King of Gaston, grandchildren Kelly Taber, Megan Belani, Jennifer King and Katie King, great grandchildren Jonathan Kane “Buddha boy” Peele and Maya Belani, brother Joyce L. “Boss” King of Columbia, and sister Laurenthia Mack of Edmund.
Mr. King was born Aug. 4, 1927 in Lexington County to the late Cleveland and Emma Ethel Sharpe King. He was also predeceased by son Layton “Pud” King. Mr. King was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
The Funeral Service for Mr. King will be Friday, March 23rd at 1:00 p.m. in Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home, 163 Main St. South, Wagener, (803) 564-5333. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 pm also in the chapel and other times at the Taber home, 2649 Pine St., Pelion.
