Elizabeth "Libby" B. Jones

NEW HOLLAND – Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth (Libby) Brown Jones will be held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the Wagener United Methodist Church, 153 Columbia Road, Wagener, SC. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall one and a half hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at the New Holland Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made to the Wagener United Methodist Church at P. O. Box 265, Wagener, SC 29164 or Hospice Care of Tri-County at 2130 Woodside Executive Court, Aiken, SC 29803.
Mrs. Jones, wife of the late Henry Milton (Buster) Jones, Sr., died Thursday, January 9, 2014. Born 1925 in McBee, S. C., she was the daughter of the late Marion Harvey Brown and Lillye King Brown Fields. In 1945 she graduated from Columbia Hospital Nurse’s Training School. As a practicing registered nurse, she worked in the Aiken County Hospital Emergency Room and later for the Aiken County Health Department until her retirement in 1987. Mrs. Jones was a member of Wagener United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons, Henry Milton Jones, Jr. and Stephen Wayne Jones. Surviving are son Rembert “Rem” Oscar Jones (Beatrix, “Trixie”), daughter Kathryn “Kathy” Jones Culvern (Chris), daughter-in-law Florence deTreville Jones, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and sister Charlotte Middleton. Blizzard Funeral Home in Wagener is assisting the family.
