Pelion - Mr. Andrew Robbins Jackson, 89, entered into rest Wednesday March 13, 2013.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Sam Jackson, Sr. and Beverly, grandchildren; Sam Jackson, Jr. and Heather, and Andy Jackson and Valerie, great grandchildren; Sam Jackson, III, Tim Jackson, Lyndsey Hite and Aubrey Hite.
Mr. Jackson was born in Lexington County, the son of the late Houston P. and Mattie Robbins Jackson. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years; Eloise Sturkie Jackson and sisters; Jeanette Quattlebaum and Martha Jackson.
Mr. Jackson was a member of Florence Baptist Church. He was also a mason with Elmore Lodge # 288 of Pelion, and charter member of the Pelion Order of the Eastern Star.
Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Saturday at 11:00 am in the Florence Baptist Church with the Reverends Wesley Mayfield and Johnny Slice officiating. Burial will follow in the Pelion Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ray Austin, Brent Cotnoir, Dana Cotnoir, Roger Hoover, Chris Lybarker and David Whatley.
