Salley – Rev. David Franklin Huckabee, 66, entered into rest Wednesday, October 3, 2007.
Rev. Huckabee is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy Mattern Huckabee, sister Rachel H. Player and brother Johnnie (Patricia) Huckabee, aunts, nieces and nephews. Rev. Huckabee was the son of the late Milledge Harper Huckabee and Elsie Fulmer Huckabee McLane
Rev. Huckabee was a U. S. Navy veteran. He was called into the ministry in 1980. Rev. Huckabee received an associate degree from Southeastern Seminary at Wake Forest in 1983. He pastored; Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in Gaston, Plymouth Christian Church in Raleigh, NC, Highview Baptist Church in Roxboro, NC, King Grove Baptist Church near Swansea, Fellowship Baptist Church in North, and Edisto Baptist Church in Branchville. He was a member of Berlin Baptist Church
The Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 6 at 11 a.m. in the Berlin Baptist Church with the Revs. Milford Oswald and Brian Thomason officiating. Rev. Huckabee will be placed in the church an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Greenville Office 16-A Brozzini Court Greenville, S. C. 29615. The Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home, 163 Main St. South, Wagener, S.C. (803) 564-5333.
