Wagener – Mr. Richard Hoover, 84, entered into rest, Saturday, June 18, 2016.
Mr. Richard was the husband of Lucy Bolton Hoover for 60 years and the father and father-in-law of Carol Faye and Tom Bodie, and Ricky and Donna Hoover. He was the grandfather of Chad and Shannon Bodie, Matthew and Miriam Bodie, and Kyle Hoover and Ashleigh Gay. He was the great grandfather of Ethan Bodie, Elana Bodie, Kael Hoover and Luca Bodie. Mr. Richard was the brother and brother-in-law of Margaret (late Jack) Gunter, Lillie Mae (late Cecil) Hallman, Betty Jean (late Wilbur) Love, Maggie (late Neal) McLaurin, late Herbert Hoover, late Wilbur Hoover, Thomas (Latrelle) Bolton, Dorothy Bombard, Betty Jean Cooper, Olin “Hun” (Carolyn) Bolton, J. B. Bolton, Patsy (Floyd) Williams, and Jimmy (Lynn) Bolton. He was the son of the late Braxton “Pent” and Maggie Corbett Hoover.
Mr. Richard was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Rocky Grove Baptist Church. He retired from Savannah River Site after 39 years of service.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 pm in the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 2 pm in Rocky Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. John O’Cain officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Rocky Grove Baptist Church Ramp Ministry at PO Box 508, Salley, SC 29137 and Hospice Care of Tri County at 2130 Woodside Executive Court, Aiken, SC 29803.
