North - Rev. Robert Able Herlong, Jr., 91, entered into rest Thursday, January 1, 2015.
Rev. Herlong was the father of Chris (Cortney) Rubino of Liverpool, PA, the late Willie "Bill" E. Herlong and the late Jeffrey N. Herlong; grandfather of Robert Marion (Alisha) Herlong, Missy (Brad) Newsome, and Michael (Marcia) Rubino, and 6 great-grandchildren. Rev. Herlong was the husband for 62 years to the late Sarah Harley Herlong prior to her death in 2009. He was born in Calhoun County and was the son of the late Robert A. Herlong, Sr. and the late Daisy Marie McMillan.
Mr. Herlong was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He spent over 40 years in the ministry pastoring several churches. He was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church, Swansea.
Visitation will be Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Wayside Baptist Tabernacle, Pelion. The Funeral Service will also be in the church sanctuary Saturday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Grover Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
