Pelion – Mr. Finley O’neal “Sambo” Green, Sr., 80, went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 9, 2014.
Mr. Green was the loving husband for 59 years to Reba Poole Green. He was the loving father of O’neal (Cynthia) Green, Teresa G. (Randy) Lee, Kelly (Jan) Green, Janice G. (Alvin) Jones, Rebecca G. (Rex) Wood, Betty Ann G. (Jon) Barrs, the late Stanley Michael Green and Margie G. (Roy) Fulmer, grandfather of Jennifer (Tony) Peavy, Tiffany (Brandon) Smith, Teresa (Justin) Bazemore, Christy (Mike) Fink, Wesley (Megan) Lee, Kale Green, Dale Green, Greg (Kelli) Jones, Mike Jones, Kelly (Martin) Amerson, Taylor Wood, Jessica Barrs, Samantha (Brandon) Rabon, and Josh Fulmer, great grandfather Neal Green, T. J. Peavy, Daylyn Peavy, Bristol Bazemore, Izzy Fink, Logan Lee, Tanner Lee, Will Green, Valerie Amerson, Marshall Amerson, Gracie Amerson, Matthew Rabon, Blake Rabon , Addi Rabon, Kylie Fulmer, and J. J. Fulmer, and brother of Sabra Warren.
Mr. Green was born in Aiken County, son of the late O’neal Green and Ruby Gantt Joyner. He was member of King Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Green was an avid hunter, fisherman, and farmer.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 4:00 pm Sunday in the King Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Cook Addy and Julian Boles officiating. Mr. Green will be placed in the church at 3:00 pm for viewing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, Hwy 178 Swansea. The grandsons and great grandson will be the pallbearers. Memorial may be made to King Grove Baptist Church at 1580 Hwy 178, Swansea, SC 29160.
