Fairview – Mr. Dewey Balaam Gantt, 82, entered into rest Monday, September 20, 2010.
Mr. Gantt is survived by a son; Marion D. (Carolyn) Gantt, Sr. of Leesville and a daughter; Ellen (Jim) Gunter of Swansea, grandchildren; Mac Gantt, Jason Gantt, Brad Gunter, and April Gunter, great grandchildren; Taylor, Zachary, Steven and Tyler Gantt, sisters Christine Gantt and Georgie Jeffcoat of West Columbia, Lester E. Gantt of Winnsboro, and special friend Juanita Jackson of Fairview.
Mr. Gantt was born in Lexington County, the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Leonie Gunter Gantt. He was also preceded in death by his wife Sarah Louise Gunter Gantt, and brothers Murphy and Mack Gantt, and sister Rosa Lee Shumpert. He was a member of Pauline Church of Christ and a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps.
Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 8 pm in the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Pauline Church of Christ with the Rev. Rick Farwell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
