Lexington - Mr. Charles (Bud) Wilbur Gainey, Sr., 72, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 13, 2016.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Gainey, children; Charles (Bud) Gainey Jr., Terry Lynn and Billy Leach, Andrea and Larry Jackson, Kelly Gainey, Audrey Coates (David Hornsby), Christy and Scott Flinner, Chad Whisenant, Kellie and Mike Coutsos. Grandchildren; Billy, John Henry and Christopher Leach, Holly and Lauren Jackson, Brooke and Samantha Gantt, Ashley and Jacob Wright, Mark Coates, Mackenzie and Koty Coutsos. Great grandchildren; Paxton Leach, Cassie and Ruby Leach, Carden and Camden Wright and many nieces and nephews. Brothers, Terry Gainey, Eutawville, SC, Larry and Debbie Gainey, Covington, LA. Sisters, Flossie Nafziger, Davenport, FL and Bobbie Jean and Billy Collins, Ridgeland, SC. He was predeceased by his brothers Arthur Gainey, Jr., Cammie Gainey, Herman Gainey and Jerry Gainey.
At his request his body will be donated to MUSC for the advancement in science. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Gateway Christian Fellowship, 1800 Airport Blvd., Cayce, SC at 3:00 p.m.
