Wagener – Mr. George Washington “G. W.” Fulmer, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 29, 2016.
Mr. G. W. was the loving and faithful husband of Betty Yon Fulmer for 60 years. He was the loving father of Richard (Jackie Taylor) Fulmer of Elgin, Ronnie Fulmer of Lexington, Teressa (Eddie) Gleaton of Salley, and Gary (Brenda) Fulmer of Batesburg. He was the loving grandfather of Angel (my favorite nurse) (Justin) Walters, Casey Fulmer, Clayton (Tori) Fulmer, Mercedes Fulmer, Shade Fulmer, Meghan (Ryan) Scott and Jeremy (Cierra) Gleaton; great grandfather of Noah Fulmer, Aria Fulmer, Evie Fulmer, Dawson Fulmer, and Addison Scott; and brother of Frances Gable, Ailene Privett, and the late James Percy Fulmer, Alonzo Burton Fulmer, J. M. Fulmer, Sam Wyman Fulmer, Monroe “Junior” Fulmer, Jr., and Sammy Fulmer. Mr. G. W. was the brother-in-law of Patsy Fulmer and Bobbi Heaton. Zoe was his special pet.
Mr. G. W. was born in Saluda County to the late John Monroe Fulmer, Sr. and Salley Lucille Goff Fulmer. He was a retired veteran of the U. S. Army Signal Corp. He was a member of Perry First Assembly of God where he served faithfully being a deacon and song leader as long as he physically could. Mr. G. W. was also a licensed minister.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Friday at the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The Funeral Service with be 11 am Saturday at Perry First Assembly of God with Revs. Roger Hunnicutt and Dennis S. Grey officiating. Mr. G. W. will be laid to rest in the church cemetery with military rites afforded by the U. S. Army Honor Team.
