Salley – Mr. Dewey Edwin Free Jr., 85, entered into rest Thursday, July 30, 2015.
Mr. Free was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was married to Tirzah Whetstone Free for sixty-four years. He was the father of Anita (Charles) Shaylor, Edwin “Bubba” (Beverly) Free, William Dewey (Carole) Free, and Jerry (Sabrina) Free, grandfather of Linn (Laurie) Free, Chris (Jennifer) Shaylor, April (Terry) Boone, Wesley (Meghan) Free, Tracy (Ty) Woodard, Keri (David) Quinn, Jeramy (Liesl Nauck) Free, and Austin Free, great grandfather of 12. He was the brother of the late Jane Smith, John (Julia) Free, Peggy Hack, Gaynelle Thompson, Ann Myers, Larry (Margaret) Free. He was the son of the late Dewey Edwin Free Sr. and Jessie Marie Bentley Free.
Mr. Free was an ESSO dealer for 25 years and was a U. S. Army veteran. He was a member of Clinton United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 1st from 6 to 8 pm in the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Sunday August 2nd at 2:30 pm at Clinton United Methodist Church with Rev. Grayson Blackwell and Rev. David Williamson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
