Fairview- Mrs. Doris Zook Derrick, 74, entered into rest Wednesday, September 16, 2015.
Mrs. Derrick was the wife of the late Aubrey O’Neal Derrick; the mother of Millicent Derrick Wolfe, grandmother of Joshua Kane (Amanda) Wolfe and sister of Ronald (Bobbie) Zook, Joyce (William) Stanley, and Mona Zook DeLucia Sansbury.
Mrs. Derrick was born in Columbia to the late Sherman Paul and Emmie Gantt Zook. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Mrs. Derrick was the former Office Manager of Springdale Family Practice and worked for many years as Parts Manager of Pulliam Motor Company. In 1979 she was chosen the Secretary of the Year by the National Secretary’s Association for the state of South Carolina.
Visitation for Mrs. Derrick will be Friday from 6 to 8 pm at Blizzard Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Saturday at 2 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Calks Ferry Road across the road from the end of Water Tank Road) with the Rev. Alvin Haigler officiating. Burial will be private at a later time. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1611 Elbert Taylor Road, Pelion, SC 29123.
