Gaston – Mr. Jack Davis, 80, entered into rest Thursday, May 15, 2014.
Mr. Davis was born in Orangeburg County, son of the late Archie Clifton and Estelle Williams Davis. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother. Mr. Davis retired from the U. S. Army having served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of Rocky Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Davis is survived by his sons Sidney Q. Davis of Springfield and Jack Ricky Davis of West Columbia, sisters Iva Mae Jeffcoat, Eloise Martin, and Virginia H. (Gross L. “Jim”) Still all of Wagener, and Patsy (Claxton “Sam”) Stevenson of Springfield, brother Archie C. (Jackie) Davis, Jr. of Salley and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Rocky Grove Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. also at Rocky Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend John O’Cain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rocky Grove Baptist Church at P. O. Box 508, Salley, SC 29137.
