Wagener- Mrs. Mozelle Yon Darmody met her Lord and Savior on January 3, 2016 in Virginia Beach, Virginia where she lived with the loving care of her granddaughter, Kymberli Wollman. She will be laid to rest where she was born in Wagener, South Carolina. Services to celebrate her life will be held on her birthday on March 21, 2016 at 2pm at Convent Baptist Church, Wagener, South Carolina.
Mozelle was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, graduated from Wagener High School in 1945 and Columbia Business College in 1947. She was the youngest child of Arthur Yon and Cora Jeffcoat Yon. She was first married to Ralph Eugene Ray and had one child, Dorita Wanda Ray. After his death, she married Gordon Richard Darmody and became a stepmother to his three boys Michael, Steven and David.
She retired from Pond Branch Telephone Company in Wagener. She and her husband Gordon were founding members of the Edisto Singers. She was a past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Wagener Chapter #38 for 18 years and a lifetime member. She was a founding member of the Wagener Museum and a past member of the Wagener Woman’s club. She was a faithful member of her church Convent Baptist and will be laid to rest at the Wagener Cemetery.
Surviving are her grandchildren Kymberli Wollman and Laura Ingram and her great grandchildren, Logan Wollman, Kenny, Lindsay and Matthew Ingram. In lieu of flowers, it was Moe’s wish you make a donation to the church of your choice.
