AIKEN – Mrs. Mildred Hall Courtney, 91, went to be with Jesus Sunday, March 13, 2016.
Mrs. Courtney was married to the late James E. Courtney for 62 years prior to his death in 2008. She was the mother of Jamie (Barry G.) Solomon of Aiken, and Carmen (Robert E.) Faulkner of Rock Hill, SC. She was the grandmother of Shannon (Dean) Cavero, and Aaron Solomon of Aiken, Mary Courtney Faulkner of Frasier, CO and LeighAnn Faulkner of Rock Hill. She was the great grandmother of Olivia Courtney Cavero and Harper Dean Cavero. Mrs. Courtney was the sister of Merle Temples of Batesburg-Leesville, Marion D. Hall of West Columbia, and James Hall of Aiken.
Mrs. Courtney was born in New Holland, the daughter of the late James William and Mae Gillian Hall.
Mrs. Courtney was a charter member of North Aiken Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was a member Eastern Star in Aiken. She was very active in church and was a wonderful homemaker.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. in “The Living Hope Fellowship” at 2550 Old Dominion Road (entrance to Hunter’s Glen), Aiken, SC 29803. A Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Courtney will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pastor John Newton is officiating the service.
