Perry – Mrs. Ottie Lee Baughman Cooper, 89, entered into rest Sunday, August 23, 2009.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her children: Vondelle Poole of Wagener, Gaynell (Robert) Williamson of Pelion, Dewey Cooper, Jr. of Charleston, Pam (Jim) Lybrand of Salley, Alton (Iona) Cooper of Batesburg, Sherman (Wanda) Cooper of Perry, Arlen Cooper of Aiken, Faye (Hip) Brown of Perry, and Cindy (Charles) Fulmer of Wagener; 28 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; sisters: Vernell Curtis of Lexington, and Connie (Jonathan) Toole of Salley; brother: Marvin Baughman of Wagener; and loving sister-in-law and care giver: Reba Ennis of Perry who became more like a sister as she helped to take care of Mrs. Cooper for years.
Mrs. Cooper was the daughter of the late Lonnie O. and Alice Walker Baughman. She was married to the late Dewey Cooper, Sr. for 48 years prior to his death and was also preceded in death by her children: Timothy Cooper, and Beverly Galloway; grandson Russ Williamson; 3 sisters, and 1 brother. Mrs. Cooper was a faithful member of Rocky Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.
The Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Rocky Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. John O’Cain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ashley Cooper, Derrick Cooper, Daryl Cooper, Chad Cooper, Clint Brown, and Charles Fulmer. The Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 pm at the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Rocky Grove Baptist Church Ramp Ministry at P. O.
