Wagener – Mr. Gerald Cooper, 82, entered into rest on December 20, 2009.

He is survived by his wife: Maybell Day Cooper; children: Regina (Freddie) Swygert of Red Bank, Gerald “Jerry” (Veronica) Cooper of Wagener, and Steven (Sandra) Cook of Gaston; grandchildren; Quincy Swygert of Irmo, Jody Swygert of Red Bank, Jodie Gunter of Pelion, Morgan Gunter of Wagener, Justin Cook of Waco, TX, Amanda Forbes of Fayetteville, NC and Sarah Mack of Columbia, great-grandchildren; Damien Andrews, Eva Mack, Emma Swygert, Olivia Forbes, and Hunter Muse, brothers; Gene (Fran) Cooper of West Columbia and Mike (Sharlene) Cooper of Lexington, and sisters; Martha (Watson) Kyzer of Murfreesboro, TN and Carolyn (Leroy) Dodson of Wagener, brother-in-law; Marion (Carol) Day, sister-in-law Candy (Joe Allen) Rish and Aunt; Reba Ennis of Perry.

Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his parents Felder and Rosa Cooper, and brothers; Phillip, Hugh, William, and Wyman Cooper. He was a member of Perry First Assembly of God and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 6-8 pm at the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 3 pm at Perry First Assembly of God. Mr. Cooper will be placed in the church one prior to the service for viewing. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Quincy Swygert, Jody Swygert, Chad Rish, Chris Rish, Joe Allen Rish, David Day, Marion Day and Mark Cooper.
