Leesville - Mr. William Raymond “Billy” Cooke, Sr., 84, home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, February 27, 2013.
Mr. Billy is survived by his beloved friend Shirley Hicks, children; Melvina B. Duffy, Gloria R. Cooke, Diane C. Ray, and Laura C. (Bart) Barton, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, sisters; Sarah C. White and Minnie C. Amick.
Mr. Billy was the son of the late Ranson and Minnie Cook. He was also preceded in death by his wife Anna Margaret Stepp Cooke, son Raymond Cooke, Jr., sisters; Cleo, Ruby, Ethel, Lois and Gladys, and brothers; Buddy and Tommy.
Mr. Billy was a member of Convent Baptist Church. He was the former owner of Cooke’s Roofing and Sheet Metal. He was a Masonic brother of the Dentsville Masonic Lodge 398 A.F.M. and a Jamil Temple Shriner.
The Funeral Service will be Monday at 4 pm in the Convent Baptist Church with a time of visitation beginning at 2:30 also in the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
