Wagener – Mrs. Alma Shumpert Cofer, entered into rest Thursday February 4, 2016.
Mrs. Alma was the loving mother of Linda (Dick) Reynard and Jimmy (Penny) Cofer; loving grandmother of Karla Ann Priester, Travis (Somer) Williams and Michael Cofer; loving great grandmother of Bailey Syl and Davis Williams; loving sister of Annie Jackson, Mildred Baker, Albert Shumpert, and the late Cyrus Shumpert and Ray Shumpert; and was the Aunt of a number of nieces and nephews. She was married for sixty-two years to the late James McLane “Mc” Cofer. She was the daughter of the late Bub and Ethel Gantt Shumpert.
Mrs. Alma attended First Baptist Church of Wagener for over 30 years. She was a member of the Ladies’ # 2 Sunday School Class. Mrs. Alma was a wonderful homemaker who loved sewing and playing the piano.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 pm Sunday in the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home, 163 Main Street South, Wagener, SC 29164. The Funeral Service will be held at 3 pm Sunday also in the chapel. Burial will follow in the Pauline Church of Christ Cemetery, 3133 Fairview Road, Leesville, SC (in the Fairview Community). In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Alma would like memorials to be made to your favorite charity or First Baptist Church of Wagener, P. O. Box 398, Wagener, S. C. 29164.
