Columbia – Lt. Col. Richard “Rick” Allen Charles (U.S. Army, Ret.), 69, entered into rest Tuesday, June 23, 2015.
Rick was the husband of Miranda Miller Charles whom he married in 1993. He was the brother of George A. Charles, Jr. and Scott Charles. Rick was the son of the late George Allen Charles, Sr. and Thelma Marie Steadman Charles.
Rick graduated from USC, Columbia and was an enthusiastic Gamecock fan. He retired from the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. Rick also retired from the S. C. Human Affairs Commission.
Wagener United Methodist Church will host a Memorial Service Thursday, June 25th at 7 pm. A time of fellowship will follow.
Fellowship and Remembrance in Columbia will be Tuesday, June 30th at 6 pm, Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
A Private Burial with full Military Honors will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at a later date.
