Pelion – Mrs. Mary Roberts “Bobbie” Derrick Celaya, 88, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, February 16, 2014.

Mrs. Bobbie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ramona C. Davidson and Phillip, son Richard Celaya, grandchildren; Todd Davidson, Ashley Davidson, Hannah Davidson and Michelle Celaya, and great grandchild Emma Grace Celaya.

Mrs. Bobbie was born in Swansea. She was the daughter of the late Holland Lee and Mary Lucille Roberts Derrick. Mrs. Bobbie graduated USC in 1945. She operated a Tax and Accounting business in Albany, GA before moving back to Pelion. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelion. Mrs. Bobbie was the Town Clerk in Pelion from 1981 to 1995. She was instrumental in the founding of Pelion Peanut Party for which she handled the finances for 25 years.

Mrs. Bobbie was a loving mother and grandmother.

The family will receive friends at Holy Trinity Lutheran Parrish Building, Pelion from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Mrs. Bobbie will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelion with Pastor Charles Seastrunk officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the charity of your choice.

A private burial for Mrs. Bobbie will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany, GA on Thursday.
