Perry – Mr. Hubert Wilson Blizzard, Sr., 80, went to be with the Lord Tuesday January 15, 2013.
Mr. Blizzard is survived by his wife of 56 years; Margie Spradley Blizzard, children; H. Wilson Blizzard, Jr. and his wife Cindy, Marcia Lee Blizzard and Melesia Farkas, granddaughter; Maquel Blizzard, brother and sister-in-law Jimmy and Linda Spradley, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Blizzard was born Aug. 3, 1932 to the late Clayton L. and Rosa Lee Whetstone Blizzard. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Wilma Sturkie, Lounette Summer and Junelle Cook. The family expresses their grateful appreciation to Geneva “Mama
Geneva” Benjamin who took care of the house and helped raise the Blizzard children, and Betty Eidson and Janice Poole for their compassion and care for Mr. and Mrs. Blizzard.
Mr. Blizzard was a member of Perry Baptist Church. He owned and operated Blizzard Funeral Home where he served the community for more than 50 years.
Visitation will be held Friday from 5-8 pm in the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am also in the chapel with the Rev. George Koon officiating. Interment will be in the Perry Baptist Church Cemetery.
