Salley - Mrs. Geneva Gantt Benjamin passed away at Aiken Regional Medical Center on March 29th, 2016.
Geneva is affectionaletly known as Momma Geneva and Grandma Geneva to the Blizzard family. Geneva starting working for Margie and Hubert Blizzard in 1958 just a few months before Wilson was born. She helped raise the Blizzard children and worked for the Blizzard family for 24 years. Her love, care and devotion was a reflection of the woman she was. She not only helped raise the Blizzard children she raised 6 of her own; Arthur Jr., Eugene, Fransena, James, Rubin, and Jerutha.
Geneva was married to the late Aruthur Benjamin, Sr. who passed away in 1978. Arthur and Geneva instilled in their sons and daughters the belief in faith, the importance of fortitude, and the value of family.
Geneva was known for her cooking and baking. There are many in our community who haved tasted the great cooking and baking of Geneva. She put her love into her food she and didn't mind sharing that love. As well as she was known for her cooking and baking she was better known for her faith and strength. One of her sayings was, " I didnt have it easy, but with the Lord's help I made it through" Geneva was a great example of a Proverbs 31 woman.
Visitation for Genevea will be held at Blizzard Funeral Home, Wagener, SC, on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 from the hours of 2pm-4pm.
A Wake Service will be held at Saron Baptist Church, Wagener, SC on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 from 6pm - 8pm.
The Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 3rd at 2:30pm at Saron Baptist Church, 352 Railroad Ave. W, Wagener, SC, 29164.
Committal will be held at Swedenburg-Gunter Cemetery located on Seivern Road, Wagener, SC following the service.
There will be a repast at Saron Baptist Church following the committal service.
Family and friends may visit the families residence to offer there support and condolences.
