Pelion – Mrs. Faustine Fay “Teen” Sharpe Barrs, 78, entered into rest to be with Jesus on Thursday evening Dec. 13th. Mrs. Barrs was the daughter of the late Oscar B. Jeardin and Mary Jane Mixon Sharpe. She was the widow of Robert Wilson Barrs and a member of Pelion Baptist Church.
Mrs. Barrs is survived by her children Robert W. Barrs, Thomas C. and Yvette Barrs, and Jon T. and Betty Ann Barrs all of Pelion and Sheila B. and Randy Shealy of Gilbert, grandchildren Travis Barrs, Yvonne Walker, Bobbi Jo Sexton, Jennifer Huffine, Ashlee Shealy Kelli Shealy and Jessica Barrs, great grandchildren Logan Sexton, Lindley Walker and Natalie Barrs, sisters Linda Kay Rushton of Pelion and Laurel Morris of Springfield, TX, and brothers Joe Kay Sharpe, Jr. of Redbank and O. B. Sharpe of Gaston.
The Funeral Service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in the King Grove Baptist Church with Pastors Ellis “Cook” Addy and Rus Stilwell officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 pm in the Wagener Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home, 163 Main St. South (803) 564-5333. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society at 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Burial will be in the Pelion Oaklawn Cemetery.
